Testimonial from a participant:
I was always the girl who cut gym class. I never wanted to do any kind of sports or physical activity. I used to tell people “I never do anything that makes me sweat.” So my husband was very surprised I was going with him to this class. But I was intrigued by the thought of a fall prevention class that would help me with my balance issues.
I didn’t know exactly what to expect (as explained earlier, gym is not my thing.) Looking back, it was relatively simple and no pain at all. We started with a few “sitting in a chair” movements, did some head turns and neck stretches; then transitioned into slow movements on a floor mat. All the while, Richard explained the logic behind what we were doing. By the end of the session, our shoulders and necks were relaxed and I no longer noticed any soreness or stiffness in my back. Amazing how much back tension can be eliminated by thoughtful breathing and curated movements.
I am excited I found something I can physically do. I ordered my first yoga mat (pink!) last week and it just arrived. Woo Hoo!!! (B.C. Gee, 77 year young “first-timer”)
