What is JC3/CHESMA?
JC3, the Jewish Cultural and Community Center, is where cultural, spiritual, educational and social activities take place. It is not a synagogue, yet along with our cultural programs we act as a home to religious and spiritual groups.
CHESMA, A.C., Comunidad Hebrea en San Miguel de Allende, Asociación Civil, is our registered Mexican nonprofit and is the Spanish legal name for this Jewish community organization. It is affiliated with the Comité Central de la Comunidad Judía de México.
Having combined the above into one name — JC3/CHESMA is the umbrella organization for all activities approved by our Board of Directors. It is not affiliated with any specific Jewish movement.
Current Ritual Offerings
KSSMA, an abbreviation for Kehilla Shalom San Miguel de Allende, is a traditional conservative egalitarian minyan group that meets at the JC3.
Chavurat Shalom, meaning the Fellowship of Peace, provides inspiring monthly Friday Nights and Holiday services in the JC3.
If you prefer a religious or spiritual experience the we don’t currently offer, we encourage you to propose it to the JC3/CHESMA Board of Directors.
