The Secret In Their Eyes (2009) Argentina. In Spanish with English Subtitles

The film follows the story of a retired criminal court investigator, Benjamin Esposito. He is haunted by the memories of an unsolved case about the killing of a woman. After 25 years, he decides to reopen the investigation in an attempt to find closure and bring the perpetrator to justice. As he dives back into the case, the film unfolds through a series of flashbacks, taking us through the original investigation and unveiling how it affected the lives of Benjamin, his boss Irene , and the victim's husband. The narrative seamlessly blends elements of crime and romance, as Benjamin grapples with his unresolved feelings for Irene while trying to solve the case. This film won the Oscar for Best International Film.

Following the film there will be a film analysis and discussion with independent filmmaker and scholar Elías Nahmías who has studied and worked in every aspect of filmmaking for 40 years.
