“A Serious Man” is a dark comedy-drama directed by the Coen Brothers, set in 1967 Minnesota.
The film follows Larry Gopnik, a physics professor grappling with a series of personal and professional crises. As he seeks answers to life's existential questions, he faces a relentless string of absurd and tragicomic events that test his faith and understanding of the universe
Following the film there will be a conversation with Independent Filmmaker and film scholar Elías Nahmías who has worked in every aspect of filmmaking for 40 years. Those of you who came to the screening of “Zone of Interest” already know how much Elias’ skillful facilitation of discussion enhanced the experience of watching the film.
We welcome all to enjoy being in community as Elias begins to put together a series of films we can appreciate based on our favorite directors, actors and genres. Don’t be shy. Let him know what you want.
Refreshments will be provided.
