Class Descriptions:

Each class will be 2-1/2 hours which will include introduction to the class topic and review of recipes.

Class will then prepare and cook 2 to 4 dishes, which will be served as a group meal at the end of class.

Please bring an apron, pen and notebook and at least one knife you are comfortable using to each class.

Class 3: Easy Noodle Dishes

In Chinese cuisine, there are many types and sizes of noodles. Rice is usually eaten in the Southern China region (Cantonese cuisine) but noodles (specifically wheat) is more common in Northern China. In this class, we will concentrate on dishes using store-bought noodles: Rice Vermicelli, Lo Mein (Wheat) and Soba (Buckwheat).

Review examples of the various rice noodles, Learn the differences between wheat noodles and buckwheat noodles.  Learn how to prepare noodles for stir- frying.

We will cook 4 dishes for our group meal: Rice Noodles in Sesame Soy Sauce (served with Steamed White Rice), Shanghai Ginger & Scallion Cold Noodles, Szechuan Green Beans with Soba Noodles.

Hi, my name is B.C. Gee

My husband & I have just moved here from NY (via Savannah, GA) about 7 months ago.  

I am an “ABC” (American-born Chinese) who loves to cook, drink wine and share good food with family and friends.

During the 1980s and  1990s, I had a catering company in NYC. We catered small office cocktail parties, corporate lunches and intimate sit-down dinners, all while holding down corporate jobs in the fashion industry.  During the early 2000’s after we moved to upstate NY, I had a cooking show on a public access TV channel.  I like to read cookbooks, collect recipes and try out new dishes, specifically Asian, Brazilian, Caribbean, Italian, Lebanese, and Spanish cuisines.

 I look forward to sharing my love of cooking with you!
