“History of Dining,” Culinary conversations. Lecture 2.  “The 19th Century  Dining Revolution”  A new Century and a new table.


With the French revolution a new privileged class was born. This  social structure brings many new ideas and changes to the dining table. The 19th Century dining Revolution brings us to Paris, France. We  take a seat at Napoleon and Josephine’s table. The common man was to change the course of our dining history not only in France but to the tables all over Europe. In Victorian England, a well appointed host and hostess present their dinner guests with a table filled with silver dining tools. Introducing dining in the English manner.
