WHERE IS THE FRIEND'S HOUSE?(1987) (Iran)

"Where Is the Friend's House?" is a touching film that follows the journey of young Ahmad, a student living in the rural Iranian village of Koker. When Ahmad accidentally takes his friend Mohammad's notebook, he embarks on a determined quest to return it before his friend is expelled from school.

The film beautifully captures the challenges Ahmad faces along the way, as he navigates the neighboring villages and encounters various obstacles that test his resolve. Through this heartfelt story, Kiarostami reflects on themes of friendship, determination, and the importance of empathy in our everyday lives.

Following the screening there will be a film analysis and discussion with independent filmmaker and scholar Elías Nahmías who has studied and worked in every aspect of filmmaking.
