Wednesday Mornings with Bea, Odilon Redon, 1840 - 1916, The Prince of Dreams Beyond the Visible

With Odilon Redon we enter the world of symbolism, a movement which reacted against realism and materialism.
A movement which touched the visual arts, poetry literature, and music.

With Redon, you will dive into a worl of apparitions, nightmarish monsters, ephemeral flowers, and butterflies. His use of
pastel is unequaled; and his colors! OOOHHH his colors!

His life and work can be divided into two distinctive periods:

  1. The Black period, “Les Noirs”

  2. The color Journey

He re-interpreted myths, history, literary characters, and created a fairy tale like atmosphere,
which will no doubt seduce you.
