“No Fan of Book Bans: ¿Por que fue mi libro prohibido?”

Sandra Cisneros, author of the widely banned The House on Mango Street; and Judyth Hill, poet and PEN International Women Writers Committee Chair, discuss what it’s like to have your book banned and what book banning means for writers, children and other readers, the US and the world.

San Miguel PEN is a chapter of PEN InternaYonal, the organization of writers that defends freedom of expression around the world. Our winter lecture series, San Miguel PEN Presents, raises funds for our ongoing work, including support for journalists under threat of death as well as local literacy projects. For more information, visit sanmiguelpen.com.Ticket price: 350 pesos

Tickets will be available soon: online at sanmiguelpen.com at the Aurora bookstore shortly before the event, and at the door
